December 2012 (San Diego, CA)- Set alongside the pristine Puget Sound, about an hour south of Seattle, WA, Chambers Bay is located in an old gravel and sand mining pit. Given the history of the land and its proximity to the water, it has become one of the truest links style courses in the United States.
Future Champions Golf has been looking for some time to expand to new locations and Chambers Bay has presented an opportunity that FCG could not pass up. On April 6th and 7th 2013, FCG will be hosting their first ever Pacific Northwest Championship. This tournament not only seeks to be one of the most competitive junior golf events in the Pacific Northwest but also to be a great opportunity for players and college coaches to come together and have a mutually beneficial experience.
The Pacific Northwest Championship will be geared toward experienced juniors and also juniors who have an interest in continuing their game at the next level. The exemptions will remain the same as other National Tour events for winners (Tournament of Champions, Boys/Girls Invitational & FCG World Championship). The FCG Pacific Northwest Championship will also have multiple PAC 12 golf coaches in attendance, as well as coaches from other schools in the Pacific Northwest region. As always, FCG will be putting on a competitive event that is first and foremost family friendly for all involved.
