Louisville, KY (January 3, 2013) – The Bionic Golf Glove is making a splash in the U.K. in a big way. After having the opportunity to appear on a unique reality show, Bionic Gloves has received funding to expand its brand into the European market.
Mark Richardson, Director of Bionic’s U.K. Operation, secured a multiyear exclusive contract to distribute all of the Bionic Gloves ranges throughout Europe. Richardson applied to the BBC’s Dragon’s Den® show to not only secure an investment, but also to showcase Bionic’s unique and patented technology, while gaining the support of the show’s high-profile business gurus.
Dragon’s Den® is a reality television series featuring entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas in order to secure investment finance from a panel of venture capitalists. It is the U.K.’s equivalent to America’s Shark Tank® reality television show.
“I went into the Den asking for funding for the exclusive distribution contract throughout Europe that I received from Bionic,” Richardson said,
Richardson was successful in the Den and received an offer for a 100,000 British pounds ($160,000 U.S. dollars) investment from “Dragons” Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden.
“This should be a good foundation to start to build the next phase of Bionic’s growth within the U.K. and help it achieve the commercial success that I know is possible,” Richardson said.
