Thirteen instructors earn Master Kids Teacher status for longtime achievement
ATLANTA – For the eighth consecutive year, U.S. Kids Golf announces its Top 50 Kids Teachers and its fifth class of Master Kids Teachers.
The 2012 Top 50 Kids Teachers award recognizes the world’s most outstanding youth golf instructors from a record applicant pool of over 550 golf professionals and coaches.
In addition to the instructors designated Top 50 Kids Teachers, 13 golf professionals have been named Master Kids Teachers. The Master Kids Teacher designation is earned by those professionals who have been selected to the U.S. Kids Golf list of Top 50 Kids Teachers three or more times.
Of the 18 states represented on the list, New York has the most Top 50 Kids Teachers (6), followed by Florida and Georgia (5 each). Australia and Canada are also represented.
To be considered for the award, professionals submit an online application. Award winners are selected based on several factors including percentage of time devoted to teaching young golfers, innovation in their programs, creativity and fun, communication and overall efforts to grow the game. The 2012 Top 50 list includes teachers who work at public, private, resort and municipal courses.
“A Top 50 Kids Teacher has a passion for helping kids develop their skills and their love of the game,” said Dan Van Horn, founder and president of U.S. Kids Golf. “This year’s group of honorees stood out among the hundreds of qualified applicants.”
The 2012 Top 50 Kids Teachers and Master Kids Teachers will be recognized Friday, January 25, at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
