ISABELA, Puerto Rico (Jan. 8, 2013) – Royal Isabela, the world-class golf and private club perched on the dramatic bluffs of Puerto Rico’s northwest coastline, is celebrating the arrival of the world’s best professional surfers to its community with a special “Surf & Swing Golf Package.”
The package is available in conjunction with the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico professional surfing contest, scheduled February 6-10, 2013 at Jobos Beach, 15 minutes west of Royal Isabela’s 1,800-acre destination sanctuary.
The property stretches along 426 oceanfront acres with cliffs that range in elevation from 150 to 350 feet above sea level, creating an intimate paradise for the beautifully designed casitas, with expansive indoor and outdoor space, ocean views and close proximity to the golf course and other amenities. All have extensive outdoor patio space, most with ocean views, and a private terrace with its own plunge pool.
Just as Jobos Beach is known for its world-class waves, the Golf Links at Royal Isabela is a golf experience that is figuratively “out of this world.” Debuting in 2011, the golf course already has earned significant acclaim, named by GOLF Magazine as one of the top new layouts to watch for the 2013 edition of the World’s Top 100 Golf Courses. The course was recently cited as one of The Robb Report’s “Best of the Best” golf courses for 2012.
So, whether you are a passionate surfer who also enjoys golf (like many of the pros competing in the event), or an avid golf traveler who also enjoys surfing, the “Surf & Swing Package” would provide a memorable escape. Luxury accommodations, daily golf and breakfast (for two) are included in each package.
There are two options available:
• 3 days, 2 nights ($1,499)
• 6 days, 5 nights ($2,199)
• 10% service charge and 9% tourism tax (per night) is additional
• A minimum 2-night stay is required on weekends; 3-night stays are required on holiday weekends. Packages are subject to availability and offered from now through April 13, 2013.
Caddies are required for all golfers and fees range from $70-$80 per caddie for every two players.
While at Royal Isabela, dine at The Restaurant at La Casa, which offers fine farm-to-table dining with locally sourced ingredients. With the benefit of River Canyon Farm and the property’s organic garden, Chef Jose Carles Fábregas’ daily menus include local, fresh seafood, homemade pastas and traditional Puerto Rican dishes.
An experienced hospitality staff at Royal Isabela oversees attention to every detail, including a courtesy call before arrival to determine transportation needs, in-room amenities, dinner and golf reservations, 24-hour room service and concierge, and complimentary transportation around the property.
The founders of Royal Isabela are Stanley and Charlie Pasarell, both descendants of Dr. Manuel Zeno Gandia, a celebrated Puerto Rican literary figure. The brothers, who were born and raised in Puerto Rico, bring their love of the local culture and hospitality, as well as a great passion for golf and nature to the property. Edwin Perez, a well-respected business leader in Puerto Rico, is the Pasarells’ partner in the project.
