CHICAGO, IL (January 9, 2013) — The public is invited to join Golf to End Cancer (G2EC) this Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. for a “Miracle Wellness Day” at Chicago’s newest PGA Tour Superstore located at 1319 E Golf Rd, Schaumburg, IL.
“Golfers and non-golfers can expect a fun-filled afternoon of wellness tips, featured speakers, demonstrations, food, prizes and more,” said G2EC Executive Director Ed Woronicz. “Basically, the store’s 60,000 square-feet will be turned into a wellness event for a few hours. We are pleased to partner with General Manager Bill Fuentes to bring this exciting event to the Chicago area.”
G2EC was launched in 2011 at the PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas as a way to promote the efforts of individuals and organizations in the golf industry to create a cancer-free world through its networking web site, corporate partnerships, and at Miracle Wellness Day events.
“We have held wellness events in the past, but this one surely sets the bar,” stated G2EC founder A.J. Ali. “PGA Tour Superstore is a wonderful partner to help us promote wellness to golfers. Together we can help golf families lead healthier, more fulfilling lives on and off the course.
Speakers throughout the event include A.J. Ali presenting his “True Champions Challenge” offering a holistic view on wellness; Dr. Kyle Goerschler from Inertia Health Center on the topic “Secret to Unlocking your Golf Swing”; and Jim Fannin, The “Zone” Coach presenting “How I coached the number one player in the world!”.
G2EC has aligned with over a dozen Wellness Team partners to make the day a success including; Whole Foods Market, Massage Envy Spas, Daphne’s Head Covers, Lifetime Fitness, Juice Plus, Cookie Lee Jewelry and the Chicago Metro Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA).
In addition, food service throughout the day is being donated by Carlucci Restaurant, listed as one of the top 50 restaurants to visit in Chicago. Visitors can register to win a number of raffles and prizes.
“This is the time of year that many of us slack off on exercising due to the colder weather, so it was important for G2EC to schedule a wellness event during January in one of the coldest cities in our country. We want to remind folks that wellness is a year-long goal, and we hope our event can motivate individuals to live a healthy lifestyle,” ended Ali.
