Gallus Golf, a technology company based in San Diego, has added more unique functionality to their golf course mobile app. Golf clubs can now add their own buttons or links within their custom app to highlight whatever they would like, specific for their course. Some of examples of this could include a button for their course Facebook page, Twitter account, YouTube channel, current course weather, events calendar, score-posting link, golf lessons info, online store, and more. Each course really has the ability to add as many as they like, and can even change them on the fly.
Gallus Golf can also map a course’s practice range, and provide the distance to each marker on the range right through the mobile app. As the hitting area on most driving ranges is moved around each week or month, the golfers practicing on the range can use the course’s custom app to read the real distance to each target without having to guess. This provides another powerful way to enhance the customer experience at a golf course.
Jim Collins is the GM at San Ramon Golf Club, one of nearly 150 courses using the Gallus Golf app. He says, “The app gives us a technology edge over our “not quite with it” competition, and has created a stronger loyalty link with our customers that reveals itself on the bottom line.”
