PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Keiser University has introduced a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management with concentrations in Golf, Psychology, and Sports Medicine & Fitness Technology, which is designed to prepare students for careers in sport-related industries.
“This program targets students interested in the sports management field and allows them to earn a traditional sports management degree with varied concentrations,” said John McMurry, Campus Vice President. “This program is entirely online and has three concentrations: Golf Management, Psychology, and Sports Medicine & Fitness Technology.”
Concentration in Golf Management teaches students how to understand the legal ramifications of managing a golf facility as it relates to both business law and human resource management. The concentration in Sports Medicine & Fitness Technology educates on how to comprehend the principles of applied kinesiology, exercise leadership, advanced care and prevention of athletic injuries, substance abuse, nutrition, health and stress management. Finally there is the concentration in Psychology where students will gain knowledge on the principles of learning, adolescent psychology, adult development and aging, health psychology, addictive behaviors and sports psychology.
The Keiser University College of Golf features a 20,000-square-foot facility includes a 1,500-square-foot indoor putting green, advanced launch monitor technology, TaylorMade MAT-T swing analysis system, an interactive golf simulator provided by ForeGolf powered by SIRGUL, and a golf club repair lab equipped by Mitchell Golf Equipment. Students also receive access to the highly acclaimed PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance where they can practice on a 35-acre lighted practice range, short game areas, bunker facility and extensive putting greens.
