Fast-growing sports technology company secures engineering firm’s intellectual property and key sports imaging development resources.
San Diego, CA – Just three years after Foresight Sports first introduced its “game changing” launch monitor and golf simulator technologies to the market, the company announces the official acquisition of San Diego-based Wintriss Engineering’s sports imaging division. The acquisition will combine their former engineering partner and creator of the company’s highly successful GC2 Smart Camera with Foresight Sports’ current sales, service and marketing teams.
“Wintriss has proven to be the best-of-the-best in sports imaging engineering, and bringing our teams together represents a huge milestone in our company’s growth.” says Scott Werbelow, Foresight Sports President. According to Werbelow, while both companies share a long history of delivering cutting-edge sports imaging products to the golf consumer and manufacturing markets, the acquisition provides significant advantages. “We’re already seeing immediate benefits in product development as a result of this acquisition, and everyone is extremely excited by what the future holds.”
Foresight Sports’ newly acquired product development team is led by Chris Kiraly, Wintriss’ former head of engineering. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Foresight Sports team,” says Kiraly, who has more than twenty years of engineering and product development expertise in the golf industry and will serve as Foresight Sports Chief Technical Officer. “Everyone here is ready to show how our past product successes represent only the beginning of what we’re able to bring to the market.”
Foresight Sports, which released its second product – the industry’s first consumer-ready club analysis tool called “HMT” – in 2012, sees an extensive pipeline of new products and services in its future. The company will be showcasing its full line of cutting-edge analysis hardware and software solutions at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show from January 23-26 in Orlando, Florida.
