“The performance characteristics of composite iron shafts give players unique benefits, and I’m very honored to share this information with PGA members and other attendees during the PGA Merchandise Show,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Technology, material sciences and engineering methods are constantly advancing in golf shaft development, and every player owes it to themselves to play with the equipment that gives them the best performance and most enjoyment of the game.”
Delivering the power of graphite and the stability of steel, Aerotech Golf’s SteelFiber shafts have been the No. 1 composite iron shaft on the PGA TOUR in 2010, 2011 and 2012. In addition to their second-straight Ryder Cup appearance in 2012, SteelFiber shafts won the 2012 FedEx Cup title, the TOUR Championship, The Players Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open and collected 21 Top 10 finishes on the PGA and Champions Tours. In 2011, two of the Top Eight players in the final FedExCup standings played SteelFiber shafts and SteelFiber delivered two Top Three finishes in the PGA TOUR PlayOffs.
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.
Aerotech Golf specializes in innovative composite technology, and has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Titleist, Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Miura, Srixon, Lynx, KZG, Nakashima, Scratch Golf, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
