Hall of Fame’s Immortals’ Golf Tournament
La Romana, Dominican Republic (Jan 17, 2013) – Some of baseball’s biggest names will play in the second Latin Baseball Hall of Fame Immortals’ Golf Tournament, which will take place on February 9, 2013, over the Caribbean’s famous Teeth of the Dog course at Casa de Campo resort
Golfers from around the world are invited to join a host of legendary baseball stars including:
• Tony Oliva
• Pedro Martinez
• Bernie Williams
• Felipe Alou
• Rennie Stennett
• Pedro Guerrero
• Coqui Rojas
• Manny Trillo
• Luis Roberto Clemente (son of the late Roberto Clemente)
• Jeff Idelson (President of Baseball Hall of Fame)
Part of the Fourth Induction Week, which honors the stars of Latin baseball, the tournament has been endorsed by the Dominican Golf Federation. The day long event also includes a Parade of Immortals in the town of La Romana, a “Cooperstown Hour” at Casa de Campo’s Altos de Chavon, and private dinners.
Golfers will be divided into groups of four with one Latin baseball star joining three players. Groups will be decided by raffle during an opening cocktail party on Friday, February 8 at Casa de Campo. The shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9. Lunch will be served at the resort’s Lago Grill Restaurant at round’s end.
The format is team best ball net. Prizes also will be awarded for best ball, long drive, and closest to the pin. Winners will receive prizes from the Casa de Campo pro shop.
Cost for joining these baseball stars is $150 per player or $400 for teams of three.
