In addition to giving back, Bogey’s mission is to get kids playing golf, reading and having fun

Orlando, FL. – Scooter Pines Holdings, LLC (SPH) and its publishing division, Scooter Pines Publishing, is thrilled to announce that the main character in their children’s book series, Bogey Ballton, will be welcoming PGA professionals and their guests as they enter the Orange County Convention Center at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show.

The children’s book series, co-authored by Dottie Pepper, former No. 1 ranked female golfer in the world and broadcaster for NBC Sports, and Scott Fuller have created a mascot based on its title character, “Bogey Ballton”, an ambitious range golf ball who dreams of making the cut on the professional tour.

In addition to promoting the book series, Pepper and Fuller feel Bogey has the potential to play a much larger role in the game of golf. In addition to giving back, Bogey’s mission is to get kids playing golf, reading and having fun. According to Pepper, “Bogey has the ability to transcend the sport. We want Bogey to reach kids and families who may not be familiar with the game.” Fuller agrees. “And Bogey’s red stripe is symbolic on many levels. For one, to improve your golf game, it takes practice. To learn how to spell and do multiplication tables, it takes practice.” They see children connecting with Bogey because he is not an eagle or a birdie. “He’s a work in progress, just like most kids,” Fuller added.

A portion of the sales proceeds from each book sold at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show will not only go to help fund Junior Golf initiatives and the Folds of Honor Foundation, the retail sales profit will go to support the PGA Foundation/Sports Academy.

Pepper and Fuller will be signing books on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at the PGA Golf Shop Booth 4249 on the convention floor.
