HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (January 22, 2013) – On Friday, January 25th, Balance-Certified Golf’s President Jeff Lindner will conduct a technical seminar entitled “Shaft Vibration Relative To Feel And The Role It Plays In Swing Dynamics” at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show in Room 224F at 1:30 p.m. The International Club Makers Guild will host the technical seminar. Golf club “feel” will be defined and shaft vibration characteristics will be discussed relative to swing repeatability. Two key questions will be answered. First, why do different shaft materials affect feel? Second, why do different head designs change feel? In addition, lessons learned from PGA Tour players concerning vibration and feel will be summarized during the interactive presentation.
Balance-Certified’s President, Jeff Lindner, said, “Most golfers don’t grasp the importance of club vibration. When the club vibrates in response to ball impact, it is transmitting critical dynamic information through the shaft into the golfer’s hands. This dynamic response information is as unique as a person’s signature and it conveys the location of ball impact on the club’s face. Vibration transmissibility determines how well critical impact dynamics are transferred through the given golf club into the player’s hands. In the seminar, we will demonstrate why vibration transmissibility is important and how different shaft materials affect golf club feel.”
Balance-Certified will also participate in the International Club Makers Vendor Spotlight at the PGA Show in Room 224F on Thursday January 24th, 2013 at 3:20 p.m. They will debut new lightweight versions of their patented Power Transfer InsertTM and Accurizer InsertTM products. These structural shaft inserts reduce unwanted grip-end shaft deflection increasing energy transfer while improving accuracy. Independent swing robot test results of the proprietary technology confirm an 8-yard increase in driver distance as well as a very significant improvement in accuracy. The new lightweight insert products will also be on display in Balance-Certified’s booth (ICG2) on the PGA Show floor in the International Club Makers Guild section (around 1599).
As golf clubs have become lighter, structural stability and swing repeatability have suffered. Accuracy and shot placement have been sacrificed in an all-out pursuit for distance. To better enhance the emerging lightweight clubs, Balance-Certified re-engineered their Power Transfer InsertTM and their Accurizer InsertTM employing proprietary materials to reduce and redistribute shaft insert weight. The inserts limit shaft deflection under the grip without changing a shaft’s natural flexural characteristics. The system is analogous to a car’s sway bar and affects club frequency by less than 1 cycle per minute. Thus the inserts improve shaft performance without destroying the shaft’s original engineered and properly fitted properties. They effectively allow the player to more accurately control and direct the location of the club head during the swing (back swing and forward swing).
