PHILADELPHIA, Pa. ( January 22, 2013) -For the 6th year in a row the award winning GolfTalk Live radio show will be headed to Myrtle Beach for a series of live remote broadcasts and to promote the 30th Anniversary of the GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship. Shows from Myrtle Beach have been an annual cooperative effort with Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, the organization that promotes all phases of golf along the Grand Strand.

“Everybody in the Myrtle Beach area looks forward to the shows and the weekly reports on GolfTalk Live,” says Bill Golden, president of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. “This year there is even more excitement about bringing news of our golf courses to the Mid-Atlantic region due to the new daily non-stop flights that will be going to Philadelphia and Baltimore, plus the 30th anniversary of the World Am, the world’s largest golf tournament.”

Beginning February and running through April, GolfTalk Live will host a weekly Myrtle Beach Report from one of the 100 golf courses along the Grand Strand, the 60-mile stretch that covers the coast in North and South Carolina. The only exception will be five weeks of live remote broadcasts from one of the popular sites in Myrtle Beach. Some will be golf courses and some will be sites where golfers like to visit.

The first show will air on February 16 from the new Banditos Restaurant on the beach in downtown Myrtle Beach. Subsequent shows will be from Greg Norman’s Restaurant and the Pete Dye Course at Barefoot Resort in April, and two courses involved with the World Amateur Handicap Championship in August.

“Whether it is for a getaway trip during a mild weekend in the winter, a week of golf’s version of spring training before the season begins at home, a combined family beach and golf vacation in the summer, or a bit of fall golf before the weather turns cold in the North, Myrtle Beach has always been a favorite destination for golfers from our region,” says Tony Leodora, host of GolfTalk Live. “They never seem to tire of visiting the Grand Strand.”

GolfTalk Live airs 52 weeks a year from 7 to 8 a.m. each Saturday on flagship station WNTP 990-AM in Philadelphia, as well as from 3 to 4 p.m. on WOND 1400-AM in South Jersey. New affiliate stations are being added. It also can be heard live on www.wntp.com, as well as any time after the show airs, by going to the website, www.golftalklive.net.
