CHICAGO, IL, JANUARY 22, 2013: It was an exciting start to the year for OBAN by winning the PGA Tour’s first tournament on the mainland. The champion of the Humana Challenge, played last week in La Quinta, CA, used the OBAN Kiyoshi Purple 65 X in his new Taylormade R1 driver and the Kiyoshi Purple 75 gram X in his Adams Super LS 3-wood. OBAN also had 2 more players finishing in the Top-10 using two OBAN shafts each. One player used the Kiyoshi Purple in his Ping G25 3-wood and Ping G25 5-wood and the other used the Kiyoshi Purple in his Ping G20 driver and the OBAN Devotion in his Callaway FT-I Tour 3-wood.
“Its really exciting to start the year off with a win and 2 top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour” said Victor Afable, President of OBAN. “The OBAN Kiyoshi Purple was instrumental for the tournament champion to gain more yardage and better accuracy when combined with the right driver and fairway woods.” The Kiyoshi series continues to prove its superior performance on the PGA Tour and OBAN has added the new Kiyoshi White for 2013. OBAN’s newly released Kiyoshi White ranks among the most advanced composite shafts in the world. The shaft is produced using OBAN’s breakthrough proprietary MultiPlex Design Technology (MPT) to effectively combine a softer butt section with a stiff tip and mid-section for unprecedented shaft performance.
