PALM DESERT, Calif. (January 23, 2013) – What do you get when you combine PowerBilt’s highly acclaimed nitrogen-charged technology with the best shaft technology on the market? “An unbeatable combination,” says PowerBilt President Ross Kvinge.
Noticeably new on the 2013 version of the PowerBilt Air Force One driver is a deeper face to maximize trampoline effect. There’s also the choice of a matte black finish or the popular white.
But beyond the head, the most measurable improvements come from picking the right shaft to go along with the Air Force One’s patented nitrogen-charged technology.
“For years, we’ve been testing the best shafts on the market to find which ones best complement our nitrogen-charged technology,” says Kvinge. “We now have a short list of shafts we recommend for custom fitting to create the best possible driver for any player.”
Premium shafts from Oban, Fujikura, Aldila and Graphite Design top PowerBilt’s recommendations.
So, how does a golfer know which shaft is best for him or her? PowerBilt has partnered with key retailers across the country for custom fitting.
“These retailers are experts at custom fitting, plus we’ve provided them with additional training and information to help them determine the right combination of shaft and head to create the ultimate PowerBilt driver,” adds Kvinge.
When PowerBilt introduced the Air Force One in 2008, it was designed to allow golfers of all skill types and swing speeds to maximize performance by being able to flex the face at impact. This is accomplished by creating an ultra-thin face and filling the head with nitrogen gas to support the face with no internal bracing.
Nitrogen-charged technology has been widely praised with clubs that have twice been named to the Golf Digest “Hot List.”
When outfitted with one of PowerBilt’s recommended premiums shafts, the price of an Air Force One driver ranges from $299 to $599.
While seemingly expensive, a premium driver with a comparable shaft would likely cost $100 more. The Air Force One driver is widely available for $199 with a proprietary shaft from Fujikura. Fairway woods and hybrids are also available.
