PHOENIX (January 31, 2013) — For the second consecutive year, PING won more Golf Digest “Hot List” gold awards than any other brand in the annual review of the highest-performing and hottest products on the market. With 11 golds, including the entire G25™ series earning the highest distinction, PING equaled its leading total of 2012. The results are detailed in the March issue of the magazine, which is available beginning this week.

“Winning 11 gold awards two straight years is a great accomplishment, and to win with our entire new G25 series and Scottsdale® TR™ putters is independent confirmation that the technology and innovation in these products truly works,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “What the testers and judges responded to in all of our award-winning products is what golfers of all abilities are going to experience – longer, straighter drives, more-controlled iron shots, and improved consistency on the greens.”

The new G25 series swept gold in every category where it was entered: driver, fairway woods, hybrids and game-improvement iron. The G25 iron was the category leader in “Performance,” further validating the very positive early response to what the magazine described as a “sleeker head size” while predicting it “will appeal to a wider audience.” The traditionally shaped G25 hybrid was recognized as the category leader for “Look/Sound/Feel.” One player tester said: “It’s hard to hit the ball anything but straight and high.”

PING had two gold winners each in the driver (G25 and Anser), fairway wood (G25 and Anser and hybrid (G25 and Anser) categories. The new Scottsdale TR claimed gold in both the Blade and Mallet categories while earning category leader honors for “Innovation.” Said one player tester: “It’s fun to putt the long ones with this one, because you make so many.” Another was impressed with the technology provided by the variable-depth-groove insert, saying: “The face is forgiving to the point it almost self-corrects.”

The new Tour wedge with Gorge® grooves was one of only three wedges to claim gold honors. One player tester commented: “Perfect feel, not too soft or hard.”

The i20® iron, an Editor’s Choice winner in 2012, was awarded gold in the Players Iron category. The editors praised the iron for a look that “provides supreme confidence” and noted its “array of custom-fitting options that make everyday players feel like they have tour-pro sticks in their hands.”

PING’s 13 total awards were also more than any other brand.
