The nine-person committee brings together a distinguished list of luminaries from inside and outside golf, from the United States and across the sea. They will assist the club in planning the anniversary celebration, which runs from June 4-8, 2013, and in raising funds to support event’s designated beneficiaries. The committee members are:

• Ted Bishop, President, PGA of America
• George H.W. Bush, 41st President of the United States
• Mike Davis, Executive Director, United States Golf Association
• Peter Dawson, Chief Executive, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland
• Philip Laskawy, President, Board of Directors, The First Tee of Metropolitan New York
• Jack Nicklaus, Golf Legend
• Jane Pauley, Broadcast Journalist
• Major Dan Rooney, Founder and President, The Folds of Honor Foundation
“We’re extremely appreciative of the involvement of this honorary committee and their support of such worthwhile causes,” said George Miller, president, The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club. “Continuing our legacy of charitable involvement, Saint Andrew’s has designated The First Tee of Metropolitan New York and The Folds of Honor organizations as the two key beneficiaries of the celebration.”
A number of major events have already been announced as part of the celebration, including the Folds of Honor Golf Tournament (Tuesday, June 4) to support the families of deceased and disabled members of the military; Celebrating Women in Golf (Wednesday, June 5), marking the history and growth of women’s golf in America; the 125th Anniversary Celebrity Golf Tournament (Friday, June 7), featuring 24 fivesomes (four amateurs and one celebrity assigned to each group), and the Gala 125th Anniversary Dinner Dance (Saturday, June 8) at the Waldorf Astoria in midtown Manhattan.
