Chella Choi played an Orange Volvik Vista 4-piece golf ball en route to a T2 finish at the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour. Volvik is the title sponsor of the 23-year-old event held at RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland, Australia.
Choi shot a 69-67-69 for a total of 11 under par to finish two shots behind the eventual Volvik Ladies Masters winner Karrie Webb. Choi shot only one bogey for the entire tournament.
“Chella started out her season very strong with a runner- up performance at the Volvik Ladies Masters,” said Volvik USA President Don Shin. “Volvik is proud to be such a big part of her game and we can’t wait to see what she does on the LPGA Tour this year.”
In 2012, Choi finished 20th on the final LPGA Tour money list and finished in the Top 25 stat categories for Driving Accuracy, Greens in Regulation and Putts Per GIR.
Eleven total players played different color Volvik golf balls at the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters. Jee Young Lee finished T16 with an Orange Vista, Pornanong Phatlum finished T33 with a Pink Vitsa and Ilhee Lee finished T40 with a Yellow Vista. Other players using include Volvik were Mi Hyang Lee (Orange Vista) and Elena Robles (Pink Vista).
Volvik players earned over $2 million on the LPGA and Symetra Tour in 2012 with 28 Top 10 finishes by professionals using their high-performance color golf balls.
