BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The No. 1 composite iron shafts in golf, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf delivered second- and fourth-place money positions at the Waste Management Phoenix Open this weekend. During the 2013 PGA TOUR’s first four weeks, SteelFiber shafts have ripped through the top money already collecting six Top Five finishes.

The reigning FedExCup champion and current FedExCup leader closed with second-place, playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in his Bridgestone irons. He shot a 24-under-260 (64-66-65-65). The fourth-place finisher also trusted SteelFiber i110 shafts to deliver his first Top Five finish of the 2013 season.

“This was a great week for SteelFiber shafts, and a great demonstration of the playing benefits offered by high-performance composite iron shafts,” said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. “While graphite shafts produce greater vibration dampening and less fatigue and steel shafts offer more consistency, the composite technology of our SteelFiber shafts bring together these two materials to produce the power of graphite and stability of steel.”

For three straight years, SteelFiber shafts have been the No. 1 iron composite shafts on the PGA TOUR. In addition to their second-straight Ryder Cup appearance, SteelFiber shafts won the 2012 FedExCup title, the TOUR Championship, The Players Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open and collected 21 Top 10 finishes on the PGA and Champions Tours. In 2011, two of the Top Eight players in the final FedExCup standings played SteelFiber shafts and SteelFiber delivered two Top Three finishes in the PGA TOUR PlayOffs.

SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.

Aerotech Golf specializes in innovative composite technology, and has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Titleist, Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Miura, Srixon, Lynx, KZG, Nakashima, Scratch Golf, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
