(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the largest domestic owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has promoted Jesse Seguin to Regional Director of Agronomy covering the western United States.
In his new role, Seguin will assume greater responsibility in client relations, team leadership, budgeting and business planning, oversight of regional golf superintendents, turfgrass science and education, and compliance with the Audubon International’s Cooperative Sanctuary Program.
A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Seguin joined BCG in 2002 as Assistant Superintendent at Highland Woods Golf Course (Hoffman Estates, IL), ascending to Superintendent of Chick Evans Golf Course (Morton Grove, IL) and Interim Superintendent at Ka’anapali Golf Courses (Maui, HI). In 2007, he moved to Lincoln Hills Golf Club (Lincoln, CA) as Superintendent and was promoted in 2010 to Western Regional Superintendent, overseeing BCG properties in California, Washington and Arizona.
Throughout his career, Seguin has expertly overseen golf course renovation projects, irrigation installation, new course grow-in and management and development of staff. His contributions to smart turfgrass management and environmental mitigation continue to contribute to BCG courses’ pristine conditioning and profitability
“Billy Casper Golf employs many of the most talented agronomic minds in the golf industry,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “We provide our team members the tools to succeed and promote from within; Jesse is a shining example of our corporate values.”
BCG directs all aspects of golf course and property maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse operations, food-and-beverage, merchandising, golf instruction, marketing and public relations, special events and financial management.
In 2009, BCG began registering courses in the Audubon International program and has 100 percent of courses enrolled. In attaining certification, BCG courses successfully maintain sound environmental practices in six disciplines: environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, and water quality management.
BCG has long been lauded by golfers and industry pundits for conditioning courses to high standards with many winning best-in-kind honors from Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine and Golfweek. An industry leader in maintenance best practices combined with business prudency, several BCG superintendents have joined the company from PGA Tour and “major” tournament venues, and other top-ranked courses nationwide.
