SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (February 8, 2013) – The assets of the Gateway Pro Tour, a premier developmental professional golf tour since 2001, have been sold and merged with the All-American Tour, effective February 1, 2013 to create the largest developmental golf tour in the United States.
Both tours will continue to operate their current winter schedules to accommodate the 400+ combined members looking to compete in Arizona. Players can anticipate many positive changes with the merger, including an expanded schedule for 2013 and 2014.
“The merger couldn’t have come at a better time as we just started selling memberships for our National Series,” said All-American Tour President Kevin O’Connell. “Between our National Series and Winter Series, our players have the opportunity to play professional golf year round while developing their games in pursuit of playing on the PGA Tour.”
Through February 28, 2013, players can take advantage of a discounted membership fee of $2,000 for the National Series, which will offer 15 events from April through September 2013. In addition to the reduced price, no players will be charged the membership fee until the tour reaches a minimum number of 200 members. After February 28, the price will increase to $2,400.
