Project Booking Trends And Fill Out Further In Advance With GYMS

February 14, 2013 (Scottsdale, AZ)- GolfSwitch, the industry leader in golf course software solutions and the world’s largest distribution network, are helping golf courses project booking trends and fill out their tee sheet further in advance with GYMS (GolfSwitch Yield Management System).

Menifee Lakes Golf Course is a serene and beautiful thirty six-hole facility set in the inland Temecula area of California. Menifee Lakes started utilizing the GYMS system eight months ago when they decided to make a shift in their marketing plan by bringing everything they do back in-house. The GYMS system provided Menifee Lakes with a new way to market their perishable inventory by setting yield rules, controlling the price of every tee time as well as the websites that were selling rounds for the course. With the GYMS system Menifee Lakes created rules that allowed them to offer an incentive for customers booking further in advance. As the customers book closer to the day of play the GYMS system automatically increases the rates. With a simple set of rules and the automated hands-off GYMS system , Menifee Lakes saw a world of difference in their online booking. Customers are now booking further in advance, which was the course’s number one goal.

Tom Powers, Head Golf Professional, Menifee Lakes, “Since we have set up the GolfSwitch Yield Management System I have noticed customers booking 6-7 days in advance more often than they book 1-2 days out. My goal was to fill my tee sheet in advance to avoid last minute staffing issues. It is a great value to be able to allow the system to change my rates without having to log in and manually adjust them every night. GYMS has freed up my time as well as filled up my tee sheet further in advance and for that I am extremely grateful. I am filling out days I couldn’t in the past, maximizing my revenue opportunities on my busiest days, and most importantly increasing my average daily rate. ”

GYMS is designed specially for the golf industry and aimed to make Revenue Management easier than ever. GYMS setup capability allows the course to customize the property’s own unique yield management program by implementing only those features that provide direct benefits. The system allows the course to choose from several approaches to manage the property’s revenue; including tee sheet utilization, advanced or last minute bookings, residents, players club member, in season, shoulder season, etc. The idea is to give the course operator CONTROL to dynamically price their inventory.

Liz Chutka, GolfSwitch Regional Marketing Specialist, “Menifee Lakes was one of our first courses in the Inland Empire to implement the GYMS system and it has been great to watch them embrace yield management and achieve their goals. The system is extremely powerful and it gives the operator 100% control which is important in the golf industry today. It is an honor and very exciting to know that our tools are the best in the industry and that we are making the lives of course operators a little easier when it comes to revenue management and the marketing of their tee times.”
