LAKE MARY, FL (Feb. 18, 2013) – In a recent vote by membership of the International Network of Golf, four vacancies were filled on the ING Advisory Board.
The ING Advisory Board serves as a consulting voice to the ING Executive Committee, which directs the management company that handles the day-to-day operations of ING. Advisory board members serve three-year terms.
The non-profit International Network of Golf is the industry’s only media-based networking organization. ING is “where the media and golf industry connect.” Anyone in the golf industry and media is invited to join and attend the upcoming 23rd Annual ING Spring Conference, scheduled for May 19-23 at Reunion Resort in Orlando.
The four people elected to the ING Advisory Board were:
Dave Cordero, Public Relations Manager for TaylorMade-adidas Golf. Cordero is a PR/marketing professional who has been in the golf industry for more than 10 years. At TaylorMade he promotes the company’s new products and manages media relationships. Prior to his position at TaylorMade, he worked at Leader Enterprises, an integrated marketing firm that represents a number of golf companies including Bushnell Golf, TaylorMade, adidas Golf and Ashworth.
Holly Geoghegan, President, Golf Marketing Services. Along with being president of Golf Marketing Services for nearly two decades, Geoghegan is host of the award-winning The Golf Insiders radio show on 740 AM in Orlando. She has served multiple terms on the ING Advisory Board, and is chair of the ING Industry Honors committee.
Mike Kern, Golf Writer, Philadelphia Daily News. Kern has worked at the Philadelphia Daily News for just over three decades, after coming there out of Temple University. He’s covered golf for almost that long, and been a member of ING for two decades. A Board Member for the Golf Writers Association of America, he’s covered the majors since 1990 and won numerous awards for his work, both with ING and the GWAA.
Cody Law, Executive Director of Golf Mesquite Nevada. Law has served one term on the ING Advisory Board as the Media Award Chair. For the past six years he has been the Executive Director of Golf Mesquite Nevada, one of the leading golf marketing co-ops in the country. Law consults for other golf destinations nationally as well as internationally.
They join five other current members of the ING Advisory Board: Jane Dally, Partner, On Course Solutions; Ron Garl, President, Ron Garl Golf Course Design; Todd Lewis, commentator, The Golf Channel; Pam Swensen, CEO, EWGA; Greg Wires, Publisher, Golf Minnesota.
The ING Executive Committee consists of President John Glozek, Co-Publisher, Golfing Magazine; George Baker, President of Razor Golf; Tiss Dahan of Ariat International, Tony Leodora of TL Golf Services and Golf Talk Live radio; Andy Mears, GM, Island Hills Golf Club. The ING is managed by Jamison Golf Group, with Mike Jamison serving as Executive Director.
The 2013 ING Spring Conference will welcome approximately 160 people from all walks of the golf industry and media. The popular One-On-One Appointment Show has been expanded to two days, and the educational format has been revised to feature more customized choices.
Approximately 20 companies are expected to display their products for testing in the Demo Lab. There will also be golf events, including the World Golfers Amateur Tour National Qualifier, and the 6th Annual Durland Cup Scramble.
Reunion Resort is located only 25 minutes southwest of the Orlando International Airport, and is part of the newly established Grand Golf Resorts of Florida – a Salamander Collection – along with 2011 ING host Innisbrook Resort near Tampa and Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast.
Along with the three diverse golf courses by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, Reunion is also home to the ANNIKA Academy of Annika Sorenstam, and the Frankly Putting PAD of Frank Thomas.
ING attendees will be treated to the incredible 3-bedroom villas for their accommodations. The villas average approximately 2,200 square feet. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and TV, and shares a spacious and well-appointed living room and kitchen with the other two bedrooms. Each villa also features a balcony and flat-screen TVs.
The ING Conference is open to everyone in the golf industry and media. For more information, visit www.inggolf.com. For more information regarding Reunion Resort, visit www.reunionresort.com.
