Hampton, Ga. (March 11, 2013) – Affiniti Golf Partners (www.affinitigolf.com) has named one of its longest tenured associates, Nick Short, as general manager for Crystal Lake Country & Country Club in Hampton, Ga.
Short comes to Crystal Lake from another Affiniti Golf-managed property, Patriots Point Links in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., a stunning, waterfront 18 holes overlooking Charleston Harbor. Short served as general manager there for the last four years.
While at Patriots Point, Short was vitally active in planning, hosting and coaching athletes competing in the regional golf competition for Special Olympics. For his work Short was recognized as Volunteer Coach of the Year for the City of Mt. Pleasant Special Olympics Golf Tournament. He subsequently took five athletes to Phoenix, AZ, where coaches and athletes paired in the National Special Olympics Golf Tournament.
Prior to Patriots Point, Short was the assistant general manager and head golf professional for six years at Reunion Country Club in the north Atlanta suburb of Hoschton, Ga. A native of Buford, Ga., Short attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, Ga., where he was a member of the golf team.
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in all of suburban south Atlanta. Course architect Denis Griffith borrowed a bit from Scotland in his design of Crystal Lake, with a good bit of deception and links style bunkering.
