Sure sign of spring
LONDON – While golfers around the globe are waiting start of the season’s first major tournament – The Masters – sure signs of golf’s high season are at the door in UK. Live scoring golf application called Golf GameBook has climbed inside top 10 on UK App Store’s sports category. Brits have now really found this live scoring mobile scorecard with social twist. GameBook has already featured top spots on UK’s Samsung Apps, when it was one of the “Featured Apps” there on last December and January.
In UK GameBook’s iPhone app stands right now on 5th place, which means significant number of downloads and new GameBook users. Its global popularity has growth fast during the last months: On the U.S. App Store GameBook stands inside top 30 as well, and on last December and January GameBook was the most downloaded sport app in over 10 countries – thanks to store’s “Featured App” listing.
“Because the number of golfers, Britain is one of our main focus markets. The app is extremely simple to use. Sign in and start a round by selecting the golf course from the app database – hundreds of thousands golf courses around the globe are there already, and in case some are missing, your able to create the one by yourself.
With the Golf GameBook app, you can keep score for yourself, within your group or set up hole-by-hole live scoring for multiple tournaments – in other words you can organize your own golf tournament’s live scoring too with Golf GameBook app.
Any golfers (or one golfer per group) who input scores under the same game will all be added to a live leaderboard, which is accessed by simply rotating the phone. You can even share the leaderboard & scorecard on social media sites whenever you decide, and with friends at home who can also keep an eye on the scores from their smart phone.
The scoring input is a breeze too. In the past we’ve found it relatively annoying to add scores to a phone app as well as marking a card during a round of golf, but we’d go so far as to say this is easiest scoring we’ve come across. It’s a piece of cake to quickly add scores for everyone in the group, the app calculates the scores depending on your format and updates the leader board.
