Popular longstanding event a favorite for Tour players and guests
(HILTON HEAD, S.C.) – The Sea Pines Resort – host of the upcoming RBC Heritage held on its famed Harbour Town Golf Links, April 15 – 21 – has become one of the favorite stops on the PGA TOUR for both players and guests.
Many TOUR players and their families stay “on campus” in one of The Sea Pines Resort’s comfortable array of 300 villas and 100 rental homes. TOUR stalwart Matt Kuchar says, “Everyone seems to stay within the confines of Sea Pines. I don’t know of any other place on TOUR where people don’t leave the general resort area.”
2012 RBC Heritage winner Carl Pettersson says, “Sea Pines is such a great family place. Everyone loves coming here.”
The lauded Lowcountry destination offers its resorts guests the opportunity for a unique experience during RBC Heritage week. For example, one could tee it up on Sea Pines’ acclaimed Heron Point by Pete Dye or the Ocean Course in the morning, catch the tournament action in the afternoon, and then enjoy sunset cocktails as well as the array of restaurants for all tastes bordering the Harbour Town Yacht Basin, easily one of the most recognizable vistas in the boating world.
Sea Pines also features 23 clay tennis courts, Eco-Adventures, water sports, fine and casual dining, 14 miles of bike and walking trails, horseback riding and five miles of unspoiled beaches.
“The RBC Heritage week really showcases all the many attributes that make Sea Pines a world-class destination,” says Cary Corbitt, Vice President of Sports & Operations at Sea Pines Resort. “We want TOUR players, their families and our guests to relax, enjoy a great week, and savor the good life that spring on Hilton Head offers.”
Adding to the tournament experience, the Official RBC Heritage Merchandise Pavilion has been relocated to Heritage Expo Village between holes 1 and 9 for prime access. In addition to TOUR player autograph sessions and daily raffles, items for purchase include both RBC and Boeing branded merchandise as well as popular tartan plaid – ideal wear for Saturday’s traditional “Tartan Day.”
