Quincy, Mass. – The May-June 2013 edition of GolfGetaways Magazine, the only publication dedicated 100 percent to golf travel and the lifestyle that goes with it, is now available via subscription and through Barnes & Noble and other selected newsstands nationwide.
The issue’s theme is “Seaside Paradise,” with features and quick-hit items on top coastal golf destinations throughout the United States and beyond. “Water is in the game’s blood going back to its origins, so we take a special look at the destinations and courses that take full advantage of their location near an ocean, lake or other big body of water,” says Executive Editor Vic Williams. “Open to just about any page and you’ll catch a whiff of the salt air and go searching for a pair of swim trunks to go along with your golf shorts.”
Kicking off the issue’s “Waterfront Wonders” section is a multi-page look at Hawaii including a special feature on Lanai, home to two amazing golf resorts and only 3,000 residents. Kauai, Maui and the Big Island also get their due, as does Molokai – perhaps the 50th state’s most underrated island whether or not you’re a golfer. From there GolfGetaways’ editors and contributors widen the travel net to visit seaside favorites from Alabama to the Pacific Northwest, Southern California to French Polynesia. “After making your way through this travelog, you’ll be more than ready to start making reservations,” Williams adds.
Other features include a Summer Buyer’s Guide with standout equipment, fashion and gadgetry; special looks at Sawgrass Resort and the brand new Streamsong Resort in Florida; a first look at Nicaragua’s stunning Mukul Resort; a visit to Sweden’s Ryder Cup-worthy golf course; and much more.
GolfGetaways also released its latest special iPad edition, the Nebraska Golf Travel Guide. Available via the free GolfGetaways app on the Apple iTunes Store, the issue highlights some of the Cornhusker state’s best courses and resorts, including the Prairie Club, Bayside and Dismal River, plus dozens of incredible photos from Brian Oar. A special free download will be available soon; regular per-issue prices is $3.99.
