Golfweek Custom Media is seeking an Editor to join our team. Best known for our flagship magazine Golfweek, you will be determining and creating editorial content in all our event publications. This role will become the primary contact with the tournaments where it pertains to the content of programs.
Job Responsibilities
• Write stories as needed.
• Receive editorial materials as they are submitted from freelance writers and tournaments and properly prepare them for production, including editing, proofreading, creating headlines and photo captions and securing additional editorial elements as needed.
• Meet with designers to review/plan all content execution.
• Responsible for the creation of all digital editions as well as distributing them to required websites.
• Work closely with select events in creating content for tournament pairings guides.
• Attend tournaments as needed for interviews and story research.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited college in English,
Journalism or Communications.
• 3+ years working in publishing environment
• Excellent organizational, written & oral communication skills.
• Needs to be a self starter who collaborates effectively with others.
• Must have strong knowledge of golf/golf history.
