Quincy, Mass. – The red-hot golf destination of Nebraska is featured in the newest iPad edition of GolfGetaways Magazine, and for a limited time, this special interactive issue is available for free on Apple’s iTunes Newsstand.
“We’re excited and thrilled to partner wih the good folks at Nebraksa Tourism to offer our readers this expanded iPad edition at no charge,” says Vic Williams, Golf Getaways Executive Editor. “The Cornhusker State is an incredibly rich, varied, beautiful and friendly golf destination, and we want avid golf travelers to get acquainted with its many charms. By the time they’ve made their way through this issue’s stories and photos, they’ll be fired up for a trip to America’s heartland.”
Titled “Natural Nebraska,” the digital edition includes Managing Editor Darin Bunch’s original story from the January-February 2013 print edition of GolfGetaways, along with a wealth of additional photos from Brian Oar, live web links to individual course and resort Web sites and click-through invitations to the magazine’s YouTube channel for video extras – deeper-looks at such award-winning courses and resorts as The Prairie Club, Dismal River and Bayside. The result is an immersive, engaging experience that takes full advantage of the tablet environment and makes the magazine more accessible than ever to millions of potential readers via iTunes and whatever gadget they’re packing – iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone or iPod Touch.
Designed especially for the tablet environment, each GolfGetaways iPad edition also features links to the magazine’s Facebook page, Twitter feeds and Instagram photo gallery. Barnes & Noble Nook and Amazon Kindle versions are also planned.
Moving forward, every bi-monthly print issue of GolfGetaways will also be offered on iPad, with every advertiser enjoying live links to their websites and the ability to add enhanced interactive elements. Most will include special digital-only content, while stand-alone themed issues like “Natural Nebraska” will be delivered to readers throughout the year. “This makes GolfGetaways an even greater value for our digital-only subscribers,” Williams says.
Upcoming GolfGetaways tablet issues include the 101 Things to Do This Summer (enhanced March-April print edition); Essential Destination: Bandon; Golf & Beaches Issue (enhanced May-June print edition); The Best of Golf Travel 2013; and the Ultimate Golf & Gaming Guide (enhanced July-Aug print edition).
The GolfGetaways app is free for download from the Apple App Store, with each issue regularly priced at $3.99 or $14.99 for an annual subscription. For more information about GolfGetaways, including editorial, subscription and advertising contacts, visit www.playgolfgetaways.com.
