Named for the diamondback terrapins that inhabit the famed bay course each summer, the Turtle Course is maintained to the same standards as Seaview’s two championship golf courses, offering a fun challenge to golfers and group meeting & conference attendees
GALLOWAY, N.J. – May 29, 2013 – Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf – A Dolce Resort, a Troon Golf-managed facility and one of the premier resort destinations in the Northeast, recently unveiled The Turtle Course, a first-of-its-kind 9-hole professionally manicured 100 percent bent grass putting course. Named in honor of the diamondback terrapins that inhabit Seaview’s famed Bay Course every summer, The Turtle Course is built and maintained to the same superior standards as the resort’s two championship golf courses. It was created to provide a fun, yet challenging putting experience for golfers and non-golfers alike, while establishing a new form of resort entertainment for Seaview’s hotel guests, and group meeting and conference attendees.
The Turtle Course, which is located in the heart of Seaview’s pristine resort grounds, just off the beautiful Bay View Terrace, provides the look and feel of actually being out on the course as it gently slopes and turns up and down hills. The Par 21 course features nine distinct and challenging holes for golfers, families, juniors and even non-golfers who may not be ready to take on the Bay or Pines Courses, but who want to enjoy an easier, more relaxed golfing experience.
“The Turtle Course is the perfect complement to the golfing experience and the overall resort amenities here at Seaview,” said Kevin DeDonato, Director of Golf, Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club. “No other golf facility in South Jersey and no other resort in the Northeast offers a putting experience like The Turtle Course. Our hotel guests are going to love it, and it will also be an ideal group entertainment and team building activity for meetings and conferences taking place at the resort.”
“The new meticulously manicured Turtle Course, which offers a challenging 9-hole putting experience complete with slopes and turns, will provide an enjoyable recreational activity to golfers and non-golfers alike at the historic Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club,” said College President Herman Saatkamp.
The Turtle Course, which provides a test of accuracy, touch and skill, is perfect for golfers looking to hone their putting stroke. Moreover, it is a great venue for 9-hole putting tournaments. In fact, the Seaview golf team can customize any event, complete with professional scorecards, scoring summaries and rule sheets featuring a group or Company logo and player names.
The Turtle Course is also designed to serve as a nighttime putting and entertainment venue. For group events, the Seaview golf team will set up The Turtle Course with glow sticks and provide players with glow in the dark balls. This will provide the ultimate test of golf accuracy to see which player can navigate the course in the fewest amount of strokes under the cover of darkness.
Adds DeDonato, “As Seaview hosts hundreds of small and large group meetings and conferences annually, The Turtle Course is a perfect entertainment option, as it can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their golfing ability. We already have companies and organizations booking cocktail receptions and special events that incorporate The Turtle Course as the centerpiece for guests to interact and socialize, while competing and having fun.”
The Turtle Course is available for individual play at $5 per person, per round, and is complimentary for resort guests and members. The Turtle Course is also available for group play and special tournament events starting at 20 players. For more information, visit www.seaviewgolf.com or contact the golf shop at 609-748-7680.
