SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The “new” Minot Country Club in Minot, North Dakota has selected OB Sports Golf Management for preopening marketing, construction and development consultation. Upon opening in late 2014, OB Sports will manage all aspects of this private club.
The original Minot Country Club, which was built in 1928, was located on a different site and suffered from devastation incurred from the flood of the Souris River in 2011. Shortly thereafter a group of courageous members decided to rebuild a “new” Minot Country Club. New land was procured for the project and highly acclaimed golf course architect, Jim Engh was tasked with the design of the new golf facility. Upon completion, Minot Country Club will boast 18 holes of spectacular golf, a new practice facility and short game area and comfortable member clubhouse with golf shop, restaurant and grille. The golf course will feature a very natural design that takes full advantage of the land’s features that include dramatic views, elevation changes, and meandering natural stream.
“We applaud the determination of the members and board at Minot Country Club on their vision to rebuild an even better facility for those passionate about the game and the club lifestyle to connect with friends and family,” stated C.A. Roberts, president and principal of OB Sports Golf Management. “This amazing town is bursting with growth, and we are extremely proud to be working collectively with Jim Engh, the Board of Directors and all of the Minot Country Club members to create a recreational and social facility that will not only enhance our members’ lifestyles, but the lifestyles of generations of Minot residents for years to come,” added Roberts.
“We selected OB Sports for their experience in the development, programming and management of other great private clubs,” stated Doug Larson, president of Minot Country Club. “Not only will Minot Country Club benefit greatly from OB Sports’ forty plus years in the club business, but our members will benefit from an even better golf experience, exciting member travel programs and fun, engaging events that OB Sports can bring to our club and our region,” added Larson
