SCOTTSDALE, AZ (June 1, 2013) – GolfSwitch has named Michael Read vice president of marketing and business development for the global leader in online tee-time technology. Read, who has spent the past 13 years in various marketing leadership positions with Club Car, will assume responsibility for the company’s corporate communications, branding and channel development efforts.
Read’s most recent experience was business development director for the Club Car’s Visage Mobile Golf Information System, a GPS-based technology platform. The system, a collaboration between Club Car and GPS Industries, focuses on driving incremental revenue and reducing expenses for golf course operators. Since launching Visage in 2000, Read has helped drive unprecedented results for the GPS segment. Recently, the Visage feature set has been expanded to incorporate the industry’s leading mobile application software from GolfSwitch. Prior to his role with Visage, Read was the marketing category director for golf, and was responsible for branding and marketing communications across all Club Car business segments.
“We are extremely excited to have Mike join our executive team. He brings to us 13 years of relationships in the golf industry as well as a proven track record in corporate communications and product management, including a number of successful product launches, which is particularly key for our planned growth strategy,” said Doug Reichel, CEO of GolfSwitch. “With the incorporation of our GolfSwitch mobile applications into the Visage platform, Mike will also be instrumental in helping facilitate our relationship with Club Car and GPS Industries, and grow the suite of business solutions that we bring to golf course operators around the world.”
