Texas, Georgia, New Jersey and Virginia represented in final round
Norcross, Ga. (June 10, 2013) – Today, Mizuno Golf completes the 12-person “Team JPX” roster of “game-improvement” professionals with the selection of the final four winners in the last round of the “Play Famously” campaign.
Chosen out of more than 6,000 applications, Lynette Fitzgerald (Reston, Va.), Tim Gaestel (San Angelo, Texas), Joel Harrison (Atlanta, Ga.) and Phil Talamo (Manalapan, N.J.) will receive the preferential “Pro” treatment from Mizuno to celebrate the average golfer’s quest for game-improvement using Mizuno’s latest award-winning JPX-825 irons.
• Lynette Fitzgerald lives and breathes golf after her discovery of the game in 2009. Working as a successful software engineer, Fitzgerald was at a point in her life that allowed her to quit her job and concentrate on life at home, which includes golf. She travels south to Florida at least once a year to improve her game and has notched a career best round of 78.
• Tim Gaestel, a veteran of the Army’s 82nd Airborne, sports a 25 handicap and shows a passion for life and the game of golf that is unmatched. More than a year after surgery that removed two pieces of shrapnel from his lower back, his love of golf really flourished. Gaestel is an inspiration, leader and role model for youth golfers across the state of Texas and is currently the Junior Golf Director at his local country club.
• Before his passion for golf began, Joel Harrison, a 21 handicap, was an ultra-competitive swimmer at Howard University. It took only one introduction to golf by his wife to fall in love with the game, and then immediately purchase clubs for his entire family. His passion for competition and drive to succeed has allowed him to become a successful real estate agent and golfer. Each week, Harrison is typically able to squeeze in two rounds between his swimming and soccer coaching commitments.
• Phil Talamo, a 16-handicap and self-proclaimed golf addict, has the distinct honor of hitting not one, but two “hole in ones” in his short golf career that began in 2007 after suffering a severe knee injury while playing hockey. Talamo, a Cornell University alumni and former lightweight crew team member, will be adding golf practice to his balancing act of wedding planning for his December marriage and position with a national pharmaceutical company.
The four winners will be outfitted from head to toe with Mizuno gear and apparel, including the new JPX-825 irons, and will begin their personal game-improvement journeys in preparation for competition at the inaugural JPX Invitational in Atlanta in September.
“Mizuno’s roster of game-improvement professionals is complete and we are excited to welcome Lynette, Tim, Joel and Phil to Team JPX,” said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager, Golf Division for Mizuno USA. “Now that the 12 members of Team JPX have been selected, it’s time to get down to the real business of improving their play out on the course with the JPX-825 irons and preparing for the inaugural JPX Invitational at Country Club of the South in September.”

Fitzgerald, Gaestel, Harrison and Talamo round out a very talented roster of “game-improvement” professionals.
• Lee Baughman (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
• Rob Cohen (Framingham, Mass.)
• Steve Gierer (San Jose, Calif.)
• Josh Ray (Antioch, Tenn.)
• Michelle French (Littleton, Colo.)
• JB Phillips (Omaha, Neb.)
• Casey Parent (Boston, Mass.)
• Bill Cuebas (Wesley Chapel, Fla.)
• Lynette Fitzgerald (Reston, Va.)
• Tim Gaestel (San Angelo, Texas)
• Joel Harrison (Atlanta, Ga.)
• Phil Talamo (Manalapan, N.J.)
The twelve members of Team JPX were selected through an online contest at playfamously.com, where golfers were encouraged to try the new JPX-825 irons at a participating retailer, and provide their feedback on the high performance game-improvement irons through a brief essay, photos and/or videos demonstrating their passion for the game and why they deserve to be on Team JPX.
At the heart of the Play Famously campaign is the newest addition to the JPX line of game-improvement irons, the JPX-825. The JPX-825s utilize an ultra-thin, Hot Metal face which delivers an enhanced ‘trampoline effect’ for the extra distance that all players desire. But because distance is nothing without forgiveness, the JPX-825s also feature an enormous sweet area, providing players with more consistent results that will leave even their mis-hits closer to the pin.
