Home of Famed Quarry Course by Tom Fazio Targets Membership Growth, Real Estate Sales
(LECANTO, Fla.) – Black Diamond — one of Florida’s highest-ranked golf communities and home of the famed Quarry Course – announces a new membership plan for resident and non-resident members featuring 45 holes of Tom Fazio-designed golf.
With initiation fees starting at $25,000, the new plan is designed to attract both members and new homeowners to a club consistently ranked by Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine and Golfweek among the best in the U.S.
“The members overwhelmingly endorsed the new membership plan, sending a clear message that Black Diamond is moving forward in growing its membership,” says David McDonald, president of Escalante Golf, owner and operator of Black Diamond Ranch. “Last year we unveiled a master plan in concert with the club’s 25th anniversary to make several enhancements to the club. The new membership plan was the next step in this process.”
Earlier this year, Black Diamond completed a major clubhouse redesign featuring upgrades to the dining facilities, outdoor patios, boardroom, furniture and mechanical systems. The renovation was performed by nationally recognized Club Design Associates. The second phase will focus on the golf shop, retail environment and locker rooms.
Additionally, bunkers on the Highlands Course were rebuilt using the Better Billy Bunker method, and new bunkers were added on the 17th hole of the Quarry Course to increase strategic options and further frame the hole. Golfer amenities were installed throughout the courses and range, bolstering member comfort and convenience.
Black Diamond Real Estate also completed construction of its first “Show Home” and began construction on its second. Both overlook the Highlands Course and feature the most energy efficient products on the market and modern architectural touches. Construction on the third home will break ground in the next quarter.
A boutique owner/operator based in Fort Worth, Texas, Escalante purchased Black Diamond from original owner Stan Olsen in March 2011. It immediately charted a course to breathe energy and vitality back into the exclusive Citrus County golf club. This effort began with re-establishing the Quarry Course as one of the premier golf experiences in the U.S.
