Organization Formed to Leverage the Projected 20% Increase in U.S. Corporate Event Spending
Charlotte, NC (June 18, 2013)- The formation of 54 Sports, a highly-innovative and highly-unique sports and entertainment management firm, was officially announced today.
The firm’s portfolio of services includes a 360-degree approach to service planning and management of exclusive, VIP-type hospitality experiences at highly-desirable events. Events will include the US Open, the Masters, the Kentucky Derby, the US Open Tennis and other celebrated events spanning multiple sports and sporting franchises. Access includes “inside the ropes” experiences, VIP access, celebrity meet and greets, and “member for the day” privileges. The firm’s first official engagement included the managing of several events and groups at the Masters 2013 in April.
54 Sports was founded by three industry veterans whose recent collective backgrounds include executive level roles within the PGA TOUR CLUB and NASCAR. The team also has extensive experience working with high-profile clients including Federal Express, Waste Management, Best Buy, Anheuser-Busch, Stanley Black & Decker, and AT&T. Brandon Woods, Chief Operating Officer, will run day-to-day operations from the 54 Sports offices in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida while Robert Miller, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, and Mark Surles, Chief Executive Officer, are slated to handle business development and sales from the firm’s offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Recent reports estimating a 20% increase in U.S. corporate meeting and events spending within the next 24 months, served as the impetus behind the launching of the firm. “With the reinvigorated interests and demand for customized, higher-end corporate events and hospitality in the latter part of 2012, we saw a significant opportunity to capitalize and leverage our collective experience and expertise within the vertical. Favorable market conditions and our ability to deliver inaccessible experiences to our clients, places 54 Sports in an enviable position,” said Miller.
54 Sports will target corporations and businesses seeking unique and innovative platforms for client and employee appreciation events, the hosting of prospects, and other customized programs specific to client’s needs. 54 Sports offerings are also available to groups looking for exclusive sports experiences.
“What we feel is our primary strength is our ability to provide clients with a level of access which can be incredibly difficult to obtain. And as the 54 Sports brand name infers, we strive to secure a perfect score both on and off the figurative golf course with each client,” said Woods.
