June 14, 2013 – OMEGA, the Swiss watchmaker, announced today that Kyle Stanley has joined the team as a brand ambassador.
OMEGA is proud to welcome Stanley, 25, to the family. He joins a roster of ambassadors featuring many golf stars leading figures from the world of entertainment. Driven by his passion for the game and extreme focus on his goals, American golfer Kyle Stanley established himself as an elite player even before he turned professional in 2009.
Ranked first in driving distance
A two-time All-American athlete from Clemson University, Kyle shattered 18 university records in his first year. In 2009, he received The Ben Hogan Award, the most prestigious award in college golf, which recognises an outstanding male amateur and collegiate golfer. He was ranked first in driving distance on the Nationwide Tour with an average of 317.7 yards in 2010, and with a combined total of nine “Top 10” and two runner-up finishes in the following two years it is no wonder that the talented player is highly ranked worldwide and in his home country.
Describing his connection to golf, Kyle said: “It has been a passion of mine since I was a little kid. I started playing when I was about five years old when my dad let me hit a few shots when he would play with his buddies. Soon after, I was hooked and playing golf was all that I wanted to do. It is the greatest game and, in my opinion, the sport that presents the toughest mental challenge.”
A fierce competitor
Kyle proved himself to be a fierce competitor when he dominated the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open, coming out on top after trailing by eight shots near the end of the final day, a moment he describes as one of his proudest.
It is with great honour that we include Kyle on our impressive roster of golf ambassadors; with his die-hard dedication to perfection and solid skill set, all of us at OMEGA look forward to seeing where his current success takes him.
