(LONDONDERRY, NH) – Danish brand ECCO – a leading global manufacturer of innovative footwear – announces the signing of German star Marcel Siem, who will wear the brand’s luxurious golf shoes in competitions worldwide and showcase the ECCO logo on his headwear.
A three-time winner on the European Tour – most recently the 2013 Trophée Hassan II – Siem is currently ranked No. 58 on the Official World Golf Ranking. The 32-year-old plays a global schedule that includes a significant number of PGA Tour events. He notably finished T10 this April at the Valero Texas Open.
“The ECCO brand is remarkably well known and respected for the quality of its shoes throughout Germany and the rest of northern Europe,” says Siem. “This is especially true of the golf collection and the Tour Hybrid in particular, which looks like a traditional shoe but offers me the convenience of a spikeless outsole.”
Tour Hybrid features a classic leather upper design atop the award-winning Street outsole featuring the ECCO dynamic traction system (E-dts). It combines hand-crafted elegance with advanced shoemaking technologies to create a style which uniquely and seamlessly transitions from the boardroom to the car to the country club.
“Marcel finished just outside the top-10 in Europe last year and has played at an impressive level on the PGA Tour as well in 2013,” says Jesper Thuen, ECCO Global Sponsorship and PR Manager – Golf. “Having him on our team will further strengthen ECCO Golf brand awareness in key markets worldwide.”
Preferred by discerning players worldwide, ECCO golf shoes are also worn in competition by Tour stars Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Thongchai Jaidee, Stuart Appleby, Andreas Hartø, Wu Ashun, JB Hansen, Belén Mozo, Gerina Piller, Caroline Masson and Line Vedel Hansen.
