Anaheim, CA- Matrix Shafts would like to congratulate the winner of the U.S. Women’s Open Championship, who played a Radix in her TaylorMade RBZ hybrid, capturing her third straight major title.
The Matrix Radix is a well-known shaft model, not only for its bright cosmetics, but for its performance capabilities. The Radix, meaning “base” or “root” in Latin, was released in 2011 and is based with the HD Design technology. The HD Design provides the RADIX an internal structure so advanced that it stands apart from all others in its class. With its 16-sided internal structure, which is visible without the grip, Matrix engineers were able to strengthen the shaft without adding any weight. In the Radix, the Matrix R&D team introduced an experiment variable tip-to-butt ratio design. The ratio specs change by flex-meaning the ball flight lowers as flex stiffens, adjusting for the needs of progressively harder swingers.
“Players continue to trust Matrix in the bag week after week, and this is a great win to add to our already successful year” said Director of Tour Operations, Joe Miera. “In 2013 we have seen players using Matrix at the top of the leaderboard almost every week across the different tour levels, most recently in the bag of the U.S. Open Champion. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for the Matrix team as we continue to bring out new products to tour later this year.”
The original Radix, played by this U.S. Women’s Open winner, has since been replaced with the RadixS, which was released this year as a follow up structure to the successful line. The RadixS woods are silver, while the irons are a dark grey.
