DALLAS – Eagle Golf reached an agreement with course owner Ed Blackburne to manage River Plantation Country Club in Conroe, Texas, beginning July 1, 2013. River Plantation is a private country club featuring a 27-hole course over a rolling landscape rich with moss-covered oaks, magnolias, dogwoods and azaleas.
In addition to the golf course, River Plantation has a full practice facility with driving range, short game practice area and putting greens. The clubhouse offers full amenities including a casual 19th hole setting, full-service dining and space for more than 300 in the ballrooms and balcony areas.
“We carefully evaluated our options for managing the club, and Eagle Golf was the clear choice. With Eagle Golf’s expertise, our members will continue to enjoy everything they love about River Plantation Country Club while receiving even more enhancements to their membership experiences,” Blackburne said.
To oversee operations, George Rees, formerly general manager of Brandywine Country Club in Toledo, Ohio, has been named to the same position at River Plantation. Denise Warstler has been named director of sales and Honoralio Aviles has joined River Plantation as executive chef.
“River Plantation Country Club is a terrific golf facility, and with a clubhouse that can host activities and events for members and guests, it is a true asset to its members and the local community,” said Joe Munsch, CEO of Eagle Golf. “We’re thrilled to work with Ed to manage the course and we believe we have developed a plan that will increase the value of living within the River Plantation community, grow the club in many aspects and allow us to deliver the radical hospitality expected by the club’s members and guests.”
