It has been 82 years since a teenager has won on the PGA Tour but the John Deere Classic saw a 19-year-old phenom take home the title after a 5-hole playoff. Using the Tour Prototype Flatso Ultra, the former University of Texas standout came from a six shot deficit at the start of the day to earn victory. This win earned him a full-time PGA Tour membership, entry into the British Open at Muirfield, and placed him at 11th in the FedEx cup standings.
Like the other SuperStroke grips, the Flatso Ultra is non-tapered to help alleviate unnecessary grip pressure and tension in the hands but features a new pentagonal shape. The five-sided shape includes a ridge down the back of the grip to further help gripping consistency and repeatability.
Quick Stat: Since switching to the Flatso Ultra at the end of May, the former Longhorn has 2 other top-10 finishes to go along with this win, earning himself over $1.3 million.
