Three Majors in a Row for the KBS Brand in 2013
BOULDER, Colo. (July 22, 2013) – KBS shafts have won all three majors thus far in 2013. This past weekend, the winner of the Open Championship trusted the KBS Tour V shaft in his Callaway irons and wedges en route to a come-from-behind three stroke victory. This win marks back to back Open Championship victories for the KBS brand. In 2013, KBS has proven it is the preferred shaft of major champions.
The KBS Team congratulates this champion and is thrilled to be able to support the five-time major winner. With KBS Tour V iron and wedge shafts in the bag, his round of 66 and four birdies in the final six holes ranks as one of the all-time great final rounds in major championship history. As a testament to terrific iron play, he also ranked T3 in one-putts and T2 in total birdies.
The KBS brand was well represented at The Open with 20 professionals putting the Tour and C-Taper shafts in play. In addition to the champion’s KBS setup, the player in T3 place also trusted KBS Tour shafts in irons and wedges. This professional won The Masters earlier in the season.
