(Ann Arbor, Mich.) Kendall Academy, Michigan’s award-winning golf instructional center, will send four of its teachers into the field of the 22nd Tournament of Champions (T of C) beginning Monday at Boyne Mountain Resort. Sanctioned and run by the Michigan PGA, the 54-hole medal play championship is open to over 100 golfers-juniors, amateurs, seniors and professionals of both sexes-who have won a major Michigan golf tournament or title.
Representing Kendall Academy are founder Dave Kendall, winner earlier this year with his amateur partner of the State Pro-Am and a former Michigan Senior Open and Michigan Senior PGA champion; Tom Harding, a past Michigan PGA, Michigan PGA Match Play and T of C champion (1997); Frank McAuliffe, a past State Pro-Am and Shanty Creek Classic winner; and Michigan Golf Hall of Fame member Jack Seltzer, a past titleholder of the Michigan Open, Michigan PGA and Michigan PGA Match Play Championships.
“All of us look forward to playing in the Tournament of Champions,” said Kendall, twice named Teacher of the Year by the Michigan PGA. “Using three sets of tees, the event provides a unique test for a diverse field of proven, competitive golfers. Anyone can win it.”
Offering year round instruction by nine instructors to both experienced and new players alike, Kendall Academy is located at Ypsilanti’s Miles of Golf, a full-service golf operation offering a retail store, practice & teaching facility, and state-of-the-art clubfitting center. Located on 3113 Carpenter Road, it can be reached toll-free at (877) 973-9005. Additional information is available at www.milesofgolf.com and www.milesofgolf.com/lessons/
