IRVINE, CA – August 4, 2013 – FOURTEEN GOLF, a global leader in the development of golf equipment design, announced today that the company’s Golf Digest “Hot List” ranked RM-12 Wedges were played by Jonathan Fricke to defend and win the Tilted Kilt Georgia Open title. They were also used for a second place finish and tie for eighth place finish.
According to Fourteen Golf COO Marcy Kamoda, “We would like to extend our congratulations to Jonathan the Tilted Kilt Champion. His play was exceptional – to win by seven strokes is impressive.”
A good short game is vital to scoring low and Fricke, the Tilted Kilt Georgia Open Champion proved it. He used his RM-12 Wedges in a 48-degree, 54-degree, and 60-degree to set up short birdie putts. In the overall event, he logged 16 birdies, the best of the field.
This victory on The Legends at Chateau Elan Golf Course proves that FOURTEEN GOLF is a preeminent wedge designer and the Golf Digest “Hot List” ranked RM-12 Wedge verifies it. This tour inspired, high performance wedge features uniquely shaped trapezoidal grooves which have been enlarged by 15% as compared to other FOURTEEN GOLF wedges. This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots. In addition, these high quality grooves perform well in both dry and wet conditions.
“Our exclusive trapezoidal grooves on the RM-12 Wedges provided Jonathan the exact amount of spin and control. They are also a key feature for the FH-1000 Irons which were also played at the Tilted Kilt Georgia Open for a Top-10 finish,” adds Kamoda.
The FH-1000 Forged Irons are the “ultimate” tour inspired set of irons which combine both traditional and modern features. To enhance functionality, the engineers incorporated a conventional muscle back design which provides easy spin control and consistent shot making.
The upper blade portion is slightly thicker with weight distributed on the upper part of the club head. This modern feature is called a “Reverse Muscle Design.” It promotes stability as well as distance with control.
Today’s tour ball characteristics include low spin on long shots and higher spin performance for short shots, so the FH-1000 Forged Irons have been designed to complement these traits. The long irons feature a lower CG which allows the ball to launch higher and land softly as compared to the short irons which have a higher CG for the perfect ball flight and trajectory.
“We at FOURTEEN GOLF respect and support all professional tours including the Georgia PGA which has provided the company with several tour victories,” added Kamoda.
The Georgia PGA is one of the 41 Sections of the PGA of America. Its membership includes over 830 PGA professionals working at over 260 golf courses, clubs, and ranges throughout the state. Additionally, more than 20 Georgia PGA members compete on one of the PGA Tours.
In addition to the vast amount of professional golfers playing FOURTEEN GOLF equipment, the company has a professional FOURTEEN GOLF staff team which includes PGA Professionals John Mallinger, Arjun Atwal, Ryuji Imada and Chad Collins.
