(Vista, CA – August 5, 2013) – At Firestone CC in Akron, Ohio, there was a plethora of world class players, as the WGC Bridgestone Invitational always has one of the best fields. One player who tied for fourth was playing a Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 7.0 X in his Titleist 3 wood, a ZCOM Pro 95 in his Titleist 4 wood (switched into it for this tournament), and a Speeder 904HB S in his hybrid. His Fujikura shafts were able to help him secure his 3rd top-5 finish this season.
At the Reno-Tahoe Open, our Motore Speeder VC 7.2 Tour Spec X shaft was played be one of the ties for 2nd place – his best finish this season so far.
On the Champions tour at the 3M Championship, Fujikura secured the top spot as the most played wood shaft at the tournament with a whopping 67 shafts in play. The winner of the 3M Championship was playing two Fujikura Speeder 904HBs in his two Titleist hybrids.
In local news, the 2013 Sunburst Classic was this past weekend where the Fujikura Long Drive Contest was held on Friday. The winner was able to oust his opponent in the single elimination bracket using a 335 yard drive using a Titleist 910 D3 driver with a Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 7.1 S shaft. The runner-up came up only 4 yards short using his TaylorMade SLDR Driver with a Fujikura Motore Speeder 757 x Shaft. The winner walked away with a $1,820 prize!
