Forty-eight of the top 50 players in the world gathered in Akron, Ohio for a high-profile test before the PGA Championship. Two of the players finishing in the top-4 chose SuperStroke grips to help in their preparation before the year’s last major.
Taking home the T4’s were Auburn resident Jason Dufner and a 49-year-old Spaniard. Dufner used his Slim 3.0 to earn his second T4 finish in the past 4 weeks. The SuperStroke Slim 3.0 has been Jason’s preferred size since his thrilling runner-up finish at the 2011 PGA Championship. The Spaniard switched to the Flatso Mid for the first time in Akron and earned his best finish since May at the BMW PGA Championship in Europe. The Flatso Mid is a new grip for 2013, incorporating our patented non-tapered technology to a new pentagonal shape.
Other PGA Tour players took part in the Reno-Tahoe Open and the Modified Stableford scoring system. Using a SuperStroke 21″ belly grip was a player finishing in 4th place. This was the 30-year-old’s best finish on the PGA Tour in 2013.
SuperStroke has a lot of momentum heading into Oak Hill for this year’s PGA Championship. Sights are set for a big week in Rochester, NY.
Quick Stat: A SuperStroke putter grip is being used by the player leading the Tour in Strokes-Gained (Ultra Slim 1.0).
