What a fascinating topic and what an exciting way to address the generational challenges faced by golf clubs today. Generational issues will be a key topic at the 2013 Asia Pacific Golf Summit to be held at the plush five-star Shangri-la Hotel Jakarta on November 5 – 7.

This address will be delivered by Jason P. Koenigsfeld, Ph.D, CHE, Senior Vice President, Professional Development, Club Managers Association of America.

A 2002 Harvard Business Review study reveled that 87% of business discord is due to the lack of interpersonal communication not the competencies of the parties.

Based on this fact, Koenigsfeld will deliver an interactive presentation that will present research on four unique generations:

• Traditionalist

• Baby Boomers

• Generation X

• Generation Y (Millennial’s)

“The “generational” issue is a major challenge for golf clubs globally and through this presentation, I hope to promote discussion on how each generational preference as it relates to communication preferences, career ambitions, hobbies and workplace habits impacts clubs from a membership development as well as from a workforce standpoint”, Koenigsfeld explained.

“Cuspers, defined as an individual who was born on a cusp between two significant generations will also be examined and ideas will be presented on how to attract and work with each age group”, he added.

There will be a dynamic twist to this session when Koenigsfeld teams up with club management guru Gregg Patterson to examine the special needs of each of the four generational groups. “We want to capture new viewpoints from the different groups so that a better understanding of generational differences is properly addressed and tailored to the club industry”, Koenigsfeld pointed out.

This is a presentation not to be missed by any serious club manager. It is a presentation that confronts one of the biggest challenges faced by modern clubs and offers effective solutions.

Book your seat now for the 2013 Asia Pacific Golf Summit and make a date to listen to some of the world’s best brains in club management provide a road map for the future.
