BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Delivering the power of graphite and the stability of steel, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf collected two more Top 10 money positions at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open on the Champions Tour. SteelFiber i95 shafts claimed a solo sixth-place finish and SteelFiber i110 shafts captured a tie for seventh.
Playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in his irons, the sixth-place finisher averaged an impressive 85.19% greens in regulation, which was tied for fourth best at the tournament. He collected $72,000 for his fourth Top 10 of the year. In addition, the champion of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai from earlier this season played SteelFiber i110 shafts in his irons and shot a 12-under-par this weekend for $57,600 in earnings. It was his sixth Top 10 finish of the season.
“The continued success of SteelFiber shafts on the Champions Tour is a great demonstration of how innovative technology can help players enjoy real game improvement and even overcome certain physical considerations,” says Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. “For example, our SteelFiber composite technology provides greater vibration dampening and reduces player fatigue similar to graphite shafts, while simultaneously giving the greater stability and consistency that is normally associated with steel shafts. It is game-changing innovation that brings greater enjoyment to the game.”
Meanwhile on the PGA TOUR, SteelFiber shafts are No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Standings; No. 2 and No. 4 in the Money List; Nos. 6 and 7 in official world rankings; and second and tied for third in Top 10 finishes.
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
