IRVINE, CA – August 22, 2013 – FOURTEEN GOLF, a global leader in the development of golf equipment design, announced today that its newly released FH-1000FG Forged Irons and Golf Digest “Hot List” award winning RM-12 Wedges were played by the winner of the Peach State Pro Tour Callaway Gardens Classic in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
According to Fourteen Golf COO Marcy Kamoda, “We are pleased that our newly introduced FH-1000FG blades and RM-12 Wedges were used by the champion to win. The combination of these new blades and our award winning wedges helps achieve the kind of success and accuracy the winner experienced, hitting 49 out of 54 greens in regulation and shooting three rounds in the 60s.”
The FH-1000FG Forged Irons are the “ultimate” tour inspired set of irons which combine both traditional and modern features. To enhance functionality, the engineers incorporated a conventional muscle back design which provides easy spin control and consistent shot making.
The upper blade portion is slightly thicker with weight distributed on the upper part of the club head. This modern feature is called a “Reverse Muscle Design.” It promotes stability as well as distance with control.
Modern golf ball characteristics include low spin on long shots and higher spin performance for short shots. To accommodate these traits the FH-1000FG long irons feature a relatively lower CG which allows the ball to launch higher and land softly on the green. In comparison, the FH-1000FG short irons have a relatively higher CG so when a golfer strikes the ball aggressively the ball does not have a weak launch but has an aggressive flight toward the pin.
“In addition to playing the FH-1000FG Forged Irons, the Callaway Gardens Classic champion plays RM-12 48, 53, and 58-degree wedges,” added Kamoda.
FOURTEEN GOLF has garnered a reputation throughout the world as being the preeminent wedge designer and the RM-12 Wedge verifies it. This tour inspired, high performance wedge features expanded grooves that impart exceptional spin and rotational speed. These uniquely shaped trapezoidal grooves have been enlarged by 15% as compared to other FOURTEEN GOLF wedges. This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots. In addition, these high quality grooves perform well in both dry and wet conditions.
The sole design of the RM-12 Wedge differs greatly from the original RM-11 Wedge. Tour players like to create different shots using the same wedge so the engineers rounded the toe and heel area on the H-Sole available on the 48-degree to 58-degree models and actually removed the back portion of the sole. These modifications allow golfers to open and close the face, promoting a variety of shots.
The 60-degree RM-12 Wedge is unlike the other lofted RM-12 Wedges as it features a T-Sole, also known as a Twin Sole. A distinct ridge in the middle portion of the sole allows the club to get through any type of lie easily as the leading edge is able to slide under the club effortlessly. Additionally, when the club face is open, the back portion of the sole encourages the ball to pop up with the perfect amount of spin.
“We thank the winner of the Callaway Gardens Classic for playing our FH-1000FG Forged Irons and RM-12 Wedges and congratulate him on his third title on the Peach State Pro Tour in 2013,” added Kamoda.
