The top golf destination in the Caribbean joins the world’s elite in an exclusive
listing from golf’s most sophisticated magazine
La Romana, Dominican Republic (September 17, 2013) – Casa de Campo-the number-one resort in the Caribbean with the finest golf in the region-has been honored as one of the “Top 25 Golf Resorts of the World” by LINKS Magazine.
The listing, which will appear in the fall issue of LINKS, is part of the magazine’s special 25th anniversary edition, which singles out significant people, places, and moments in golf past and present. In the listing of the world’s top resorts, Casa de Campo is the only property from the Caribbean.
In describing the resorts on this exclusive list, author Brian McCallen wrote, “It takes a serendipitous location coupled with peerless golf, a splendid hotel, excellent dining, and impeccable service to qualify.”
“It’s an honor to be included in this article,” said Gilles Gagnon, director of golf operations for Casa de Campo. “But in all honesty, we believe we deserve to be included. Our collection of Pete Dye-designed golf courses is second to none, not just in the Caribbean but around the world.”
“LINKS is the most respected publication in the world of golf resorts and real estate,” said Peter J. Bonell, Chief Marketing Officer. “They made their selections without regards to advertising or any financial considerations, and we applaud them for that. We are very grateful for including Casa de Campo on this prestigious list.”
Casa de Campo is holding the first annual Dye Hard Cup-to be played on all 90 holes currently at the resort-from Nov. 10-15, 2013, with a prize purse of $90,000.
Earlier this year, Casa de Campo was named the Caribbean’s best resort, and its “Teeth of the Dog” the best golf course, by Caribbean Journal, the leading digital newspaper covering the region. Those are just the latest media honors for the resort and its courses.
