NORCROSS, Ga. – U.S. Kids Golf is excited to announce the national release of “The Short Game,” which will debut Sept. 20 in 10 markets. Filmed in Pinehurst, N.C., during the 2012 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship, this full-length documentary profiles eight 7-year-old players as they prepare for and compete in U.S. Kids Golf’s flagship tournament.
“‘The Short Game’ highlights the best parts of junior golf – the players’ love of the game and their relationships with parents, coaches, and other players,” said Dan Van Horn, U.S. Kids Golf President and Founder. “But more than golf, the film is really about life. All ages and even non-golfers will love this movie.”
Since 2000, the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship has been a celebration of youth golf. In 2012, more than 1,200 players and their families traveled from 40 countries to share experiences together. With Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel as Executive Producers, “The Short Game” is poised to impact all viewers, even those without kids or who don’t play golf.
In all, the cast of eight players hails from China, France, Philippines, South Africa, and the United States, and their brilliant personalities helped the film win the Audience award at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival.
Additional markets may be added following the first weekend and “The Short Game” will be available worldwide on Netflix in the months after its release in theaters this fall. For more information about “the Short Game,” please visit www.theshortgamemovie.com.
